Everyday, as I sit in rush hour traffic, I look at all the different billboards lining the highway and it seems like every other billboard is advertising for a different Auto Accident Attorney. I also hear a lot of radio commercials for Auto Accident Attorney’s. This really came in handy about a year and a half ago when I actually needed to hire an auto accident attorney because of an accident that I was involved in. It was great to look up at the accident and have a phone number staring back at me.

I was on my way to a friend’s house house for a visit. As I merged on to the interstate, a semi truck swerved into my lane and hit my car, pushing me off the road and into the guard rail. The truck then continued on down the road for about a mile until he pulled over. I was in total shock. I thought he was going to continue to go and it would be a hit and run. Looking at the damage to my car, I should have been hurt, but I was able to get out of the car and only seemed to have a few bumps and bruises. Soon after, the police and ambulance arrived, followed by my parents. The paramedics checked me out and I really felt fine at that time. The police started interviewing all of the witnesses, the truck driver, and I on what was the cause of the accident. This is when the truck driver changed his story saying that the accident was completely my fault and that I was the one that ran into him! I could not believe my ears. He had just apologized to me 20 minutes prior! All of the witnesses jumped in and told the officer that he was lying and that he admitted that it was his fault prior to the police arriving. This is when my father turned to me and said we need to contact an auto accident attorney. I immediately jumped on my cell phone and dialed the number on the billboard staring back at me. Thank goodness I called him, as I really think it helped to get his advice before leaving the scene of the accident.

Once the police finished up their report, we snapped pictures of the truck and my car. We also got the name and contact info of several of the witnesses that were present.

On our way home, I started to feel some pain in my neck and back. By the next morning I was in a lot of pain, so I called my doctor and he referred me to a neurologist who ordered an MRI and x-ray’s to be done. I knew this was not a good sign. I was given medication for pain and to relax my muscles and I was put into 5 months of physical therapy.

It has been a little over a year and half ago that I had my accident and I still have some back pain every so often. My auto accident attorney is still working on my case and is looking to settle sometime in the next few months. I went through a lot of time and money during my recovery period. My auto accident attorney wants me to be compensated for my pain and suffering. This is something that I am going to be effected by for the rest of my life.
